Angelo State University is a public, coeducational, doctoral level granting university located in San Angelo, Texas, United States. It was founded as in 1928 as San Angelo College. It gained University status and awarded its first baccalaureate degrees in 1967 and graduate degrees in 1969, the same year it took on its current name, Angelo State University. It offers over 100 undergraduate programs and 34 graduate programs. It is a member of the Texas Tech University System. Angelo State was named one of "The Best 371 Colleges" and "Best in the West" by the Princeton Review in its 2011 rankings. It was one of only 3 public universities in Texas to make the list, the other two being the states flagships, the University of Texas and Texas A&M.

As a GED or homeschooled student, you must have earned either an ACT (composite) score of 23 or a SAT (combined critical reading and math) score of 1030.


If you do not meet the ACT or SAT scores in the chart above, you will still be considered for admission. The Undergraduate Admissions Review Committee will evaluate each application. Students admitted may be subject to specific enrollment conditions based on each applicant’s individual circumstances.
