Usually most colleges don’t put any emphasis on which test to take.Universities will accept either score.but its in best interest to take both as Colleges have a “comparison” method to determine whether the SAT or ACT test score is higher. When both test score are reported, most college will consider the higher of the two test scores, e.g. a 30 on the ACT is considered better than 1200-1230 score on the SAT. Not only might this make a difference on an admissions decision, but also on scholarship eligibility. So, bottom line, take both tests.

Taking both test gives you two score and sometime few student do well on act then on sat while some do better on sat as compared to act.so when you have high score on one and lame score on the other you can send the high score instead of low but if you have one high one good score you can send both.

Taking both act and sat might sound lucrative due to above mentioned reasons but there are few precaution that need to taken as follow.

* TIME:Consider taking both test only when you have plenty of time.
* COST:Since you are trying to take two exams you will have to spend twice the money as you will have to register for two test,buy books for two test and other spending as such.
* RISK:studying for two test can hurt performance on both.For majority of us sticking to one test is better and secure.These type of double test strategy are for overachiever who don’t get bothered from heavy studying.
